"Autobiography of a Umbrella"

                                   

             Hello friends, I am a Umbrella, I want to tell something about me and something about my life. I am not one of those new folding umbrellas, but the old-fashioned, non-folding type. I am very proud of this, because I am very sturdy and strong.

         I was made in a factory in Pune. Then I was packed in a box with others and sent to a store. There I was on the display rack. I was then picked up by an old man. He opened and closed me several time and then looked at my price tag. He examined my friends too, but he seemed to like me best. The old man bought me immediately.

        My owner took me wherever he went. He used me as protection from the sun as well as the rain. He looked after me properly, and never forgot me anywhere.

       Then one day, I fell from his hand when he was getting down from the bus. My handle broke. My owner was upset. He took me to a repair shop and fitted me with a mew handle. The new handle was bright and shiny and y owner seemed quite pleased with it.

        I am two years old now and he still takes me with him wherever he goes. Of course,he sometimes uses me as a walking stick, but I don't mind that. I love him and I will serve him as long as I can.
